Live QA Lesson 04

Symptom Stories, Emotion,s and body memories

We discussed symptom stories and muscle memory connections. Here are the participants’ experiences

Example we talked about how past experiences, such as childhood incidents of clumsiness, can create body memories that influence current symptoms.

The fear of being perceived as drunk or abnormal by others, maybe attributed to past experiences of bullying. Most people do not assume negative things about People with disabilities or visible symptoms.

The fears of today often build upon childhood experience of eg, being bullied.

Overcoming Fear of Being Different

the fear of standing out or being different, leading to feelings of isolation and fear of judgment. Lilian emphasized the natural human tendency to scan for danger and how this can lead to focusing on oneself after quickly assessing if a situation is safe.

Break you belief by recognizing that attention from others is often brief and not a cause for concern. Most people stare… for a few seconds and then they shift focus from one’s own problems to their own problems

Mindfulness Strategies for Stress Management

It is important to identifying and addressing underlying body memories and adrenaline levels. It is possible to use up adrenaline before facing potentially stressful situations.

We heard more symptom stories

When noticing symptomsstory it is important to distinguize between fears and real danger. And here was a situation explained with a dog that could run from the garden and scare children and neighbors. That is important to take actions to reduce that stress.

Example

  1. Are you in a burning house? Then escape.
  2. Are you afraid that it will catch fire in the future? It is time to make a plan on how to make it safer.

Anxiety and Freezing in Parkinson’s

Freezing episodes are typically due to something your senses observe. It is an instinctive response to potential danger. It becomes worse with medication – all symptoms do.

Whitecoate syndrome

Most people get traumas from the diagnose and examination, where you are under pressure to do certain movements or even being pulled to test if you easily fall. .

Dealing With Disrespectful Parental Behavior

Our parents have put a lot of stress on us in our upbringing. So, notice your symptoms together with them. They often push our symptoms as we become children again when they are next to us.

In general, there are three ways forward regarding other people:

  • Put more distance to them in time, together with them, and frequency of visits (which is the most primitive way)
  • Put boundaries, and tell them that X has to stop
  • Resolve the underlying traumas. They are probably old now and without the power to harm you.
